James Bahamonde of Miami Beach, Florida Arrested for Hoax Bomb Threat

James Bahamonde of Miami Beach, Florida was arrested Tuesday after he was accused of telling a Miami International Airport bartender that there "might" be a bomb in his bag, news sources report. Detectives searched the bag but found no bomb. Bahamonde, 36, was booked into the Miami-Dade County Jail on charges of planting of a hoax bomb. It is unclear whether Bahamonde qualified for bail. Reports did not specify an attorney for Bahamonde.

According to reports, the incident occurred at the Delta Sky Club Bar in the Miami International Airport. Bahamonde was having a drink at the bar and got up to go the restroom. He reportedly told the bartender to look over his bag while he went to the bathroom. Sources say Bahamonde told the bartender that their "might" be a bomb inside his bag, perhaps in jest.

In response to the comment, detectives evacuated Terminal H through J and investigated Bahamonde's bag. According to police, there was nothing explosive inside the bag. Detectives spoke with Bahamonde, who said he was only "kidding."

In other news, Jodi Rosenberg of Wellington was arrested Wednesday after she was accused of assaulting her 21-year-old son while trying to make him go panhandling, reports say. Daniel Rosenberg, Jodi's 26-year-old son, allegedly assisted her in the attack. The victim's name has not been released. Jodi and Daniel Rosenberg were booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of battery. Jodi was later released on unspecified conditions; Daniel was held without bail. It is not clear whether either party has hired legal representation.

Daniel Rosenberg reportedly has an arrest record that includes charges such as petit theft, larceny, fraud, probation violations, and domestic battery. It was not immediately clear whether Jodi Rosenberg had been arrested in the past.

Sources say at least one of Rosenberg's sons suffer from a disability, for which she collects government financial benefits. Reports also say the Rosenberg often asked the victim to panhandle in order to supplement the family income.
