Carlos Perez Jimenez of Miami, Florida and his sons Carlos Perez Eiroa, 21, and a publicly unnamed 17-year-old were arrested Monday after they were accused of taking scrap metal from a construction site, news sources indicate. Jimenez, 41, and his two sons were booked into the Plantation Key Jail on charges of theft and burglary. It is unclear whether any of them has qualified for bail bond or hired a lawyer.

Reports say the incident occurred sometime Monday on land owned by the Upper Keys Marine Construction Company. According to reports, Jimenez, Eiroa, and the 17-year-old entered the property and began removing pieces of scrap metal. The group allegedly packed the scrap metal into a nearby vehicle. It does not appear as though the group actually made off with any of the materials, nor is it clear what the materials were being used for on the property.

A detective on the scene reportedly witnessed the alleged theft and approached the three suspects, reports say. Whether the detective was there on a tip or by chance is not clear. According to Jimenez's testimony, the scrap metal had been lying by garbage bins and the three suspects assumed it was being thrown out as trash. The land proprietor denied those claims, saying the metal had been stored across a number of areas throughout the land, not near a garbage bin. The proprietor has not been identified in public reports.

Police arrested Jimenez, Eiroa and the 17-year-old boy at the scene. The officer charged the trio with theft and burglary. It remains to be seen whether they may face an additional charge of trespassing for entering the land unlawfully. Details about the suspects were not immediately available.

In other news, Waldemar A. DeJesus of Palm Beach County was arrested Monday after he allegedly exposed himself to children on a school playground, reports indicate. DeJesus, 32, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of trespassing on school grounds and lewd or lascivious exhibition. It is unclear whether he qualified for bail or hired legal representation.

Reports say the incident occurred around 2:45 Monday evening on the grounds of the H.L. Johnson Elementary School, which is located at 1000 Crestwood Boulevard. According to reports, children were leaving school when two students saw DeJesus in a vehicle. DeJesus was allegedly touching himself at the time.
