Miguel Rodriguez of Miami, Florida was arrested Saturday after he allegedly sent a string of threatening text messages to his ex-girlfriend, news sources report. One of the purported messages showed Rodriguez holding a handgun, sources say. Police have not released the victim's identity. Rodriguez, 38, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of aggravated stalking. It is unclear whether he qualified for bail bond. Thus far, no defense lawyer has spoken up on Rodriguez's behest.

According to reports, Rodriguez and his girlfriend split up in January, though reports did not specify the details of that separation. The ex-girlfriend purportedly claims that Rodriguez began sending her threatening text and photo messages in February. Reports say Rodriguez sent the threatening photo messages, one of which showed him brandishing a firearm, through Instagram. The victim's father says he also received a threatening message from Rodriguez as well, in which Rodriguez allegedly said, "Tell her [the victim] to call me. I'm not going to stop till I find her and the last thing she will see is a barrel to her face."

Concerned about the nature of the messages, the victim called the police and reported Rodriguez. Police in turn contacted Rodriguez and told him to cease sending the threatening messages. However, Rodriguez retorted and told the police, "I'm going to keep contacting her, because you can't arrest me for text messages and Instagram photos, and I know that for a fact."

The officers traveled Rodriguez's his home and placed him under arrest on charges of aggravated stalking after he refused to stop digitally harassing his ex. Reports say the victim filed a restraining order against Rodriguez following his arrest. Neither Rodriguez nor the victim made a statement regarding the allegations.

In other news, Armida Suarez of West Boynton Beach was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly assaulted a guard at the gated community where she lives, reports say. Suarez, 52, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of battery and burglary. Her bail was set at $6,000. It is not yet known whether she has hired legal representation.
